A NIGHT OF NAMES, DANCING AND MUSIC

Večer stage was fired up by explosive guys from Mexico. Los Explosivos, a charming group of four boys, provided a vivid performance with loud and relaxed rock’n’roll. The boys performed at Lent before and loved the crowd, the festival and Maribor. The guitarist Carlos said:"I am very happy that we are here again. People are very happy and playful. The concert was great; we all danced and had fun. I like Maribor, Slovenia and Slovene women! "

The concert of Tito & Tarantula began by three mysterious girls playing guitar, drums and bass. Last to the stage was Tito and together, they offered the audience a journey through smooth rock with latin elements, spiced up by their unique style ways of playing the guitar. The audience got crazier after every song and reached the peak of euphoria when the band played Back to the House That Love Built, After Dark, Angry Cockroaches and Strange Face of Love. During the last song, Tito invited the audience to join him on stage. A small crowd danced together with Tito on stage! "This is a great way to end a great concert!" said a visitor. After the concert, the charming Tito Larriva told us: "The concert was great, the audience was amazing. I met many nice people, families, bikers and drunks and I enjoyed every minute in Maribor. We’ve been here before but this time it feels special."

Jazzlent introduced the band Tamikrest to the Slovene audience. The members of the band come from Mali and are members of the Sahrawi nomadic people Tuareg. Mali is where most of the violence comes from. The members feel the instruments and music they create is the best weapon in their battle. Their songs have sad lyrics about young Tuaregs in the Sahara, who have lost their culture and future, but not their love for it. By presenting their work and battles of their people they became the ambassadors Tuareg culture. Their traditional music was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley. Elements of modern Western music are combined with traditional hypnotic drums, accompanied by female voices. When listening to their music, one gets the feeling that he is in a love story, surrounded by sadness. Intertwining of these elements symbolizes the name of the group; Tamikrest means contact, friendship and future.
