DESCRIPTION:Vlatko Stefanovski (guitar), Vasko Atanasovski (saxophone, flute), Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra \n\nA meeting of two outstanding, legendary musicians, Vlatko Stefanovski and Vasko Atanasovski, combined with the superb Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra yields a wonderful and breath-taking musical experience. Both passionate and sublime composers have created a marvellous musical offering full of magical sounds from the country of sun and water, fire and ice. \n\nViolin’s longing is beautifully combined with the vibrant solo parts performed by these two brilliant virtuosos who both excel in their unique energetic expression. The concert brings you the charming, passionate and dreamy music by the two composers combined with their arrangements of Slovene and Macedonian folk music. \n\nThe project Fire&Ice is a result of previous work with the two protagonists of the evening, legendary Macedonian guitarist Vlatko Stefanovski, and ground-breaking Slovene saxophone player and composer, Vasko Atanasovski. Vlatko Stefanovski and Vasko Atanasovski are two outstanding, unique musicians, uncompromising in their musical expression, who both get inspired from the same treasure trove of Balkan rhythms and melodies. We invited them to share with us their experience and way of expressing this particular music. All arrangements by Vasko Atanasovski are a fusion of folk melodies and rhythms with classical and jazz elements and elements of popular music. A dialogue of both soloists is an intense collaboration with the string instruments which play a strong melodic and rhythmic role when sporadically included into the musical discourse.
