In Hebrew, Bilbi means Pippi Longstocking - the most famous heroine of the Swedish children's writer Astrid Lindgren. She was a brave, independent and strong girl with incredible strength and a different view of the world of adults. Bilbi, which is Maja Pihler Stermecki’s alter ego, is a talented and educated author, singer and actress, who got her experience performing in German-speaking theatres and musicals. In collaboration with composer and musician Gregor Stermecki, she created a musical project that is a true kaleidoscope of colourful life stories seasoned with a healthy dose of humour, tragedy and self-criticism. Her poems are characterized by an honest, narrative style and originality of linguistic expression. They represent the world as Bilbi sees it – full of colour, warmth and life. Hvala za vijolice, Kaj pa ti?, Iskrice in Ko tvoja sem še bla are some of the many pieces of her mosaic. Video for single Hvala za vijolice already has over million views on Youtube and her debut album Drobne slike was praised by the critics. In 20133, the Slovene popular music festival awarded her and Gregor Stermecki with the jury award for best lyrics. Later, they won second place at EMA festival with the song Konichiwa.
DIRECTORS
Bilbi performs with excellent, experienced musicians, known as DIREKTORJI, that add some naughtiness, nostalgia and old school rock and roll to her music.
