ART CAMP calls for volunteers

The beginning of summer also means the beginning of Art Camp – a place where you can relax surrounded by the greenery of the city park.

This will be our sixth Art Camp. In previous years, the artistic and creative character of the festival won over the visitors with a colourful combination of fun, sports, creativity, science, culture and relaxation. The organizers are trying to bring different generations together and provide you with free knowledge, healthy lifestyle and leisure time. In all that, we are lucky to have the help of our volunteers.

In 2012, we offered 1,432 individual workshops and events in 16 days that included 346 people, 37 volunteers and 13 technicians.

Clubs, organizations and individuals got the chance to give 468 presentations of their work. We had over 4000 visitors per day.

Individual parts of Art Camp are divided into the following festival venues:

- ART CAMP STAGE includes at least three different performances a day: best school productions of the past school year at 11 AM, dance and music performances for the youngest visitors at 5 PM, and evening concerts and other events for adults at 7.30 PM.

- THE BEAT OF CULTURE is a social science and culture festival that allows visitors to experience music, games and languages of the world and crafts and history of Slovenia. Enter the world of creativity, coloured with the cultures of the world and its own tradition. The festival also strengthens international co-operation, as it organizes exchanges and international projects.

- ART RIPENS ideas as the sun ripens cherries. Art ripens with painting, mimicking nature or fantasy images that calm the spirit and connect the dreamers. Art ripens with sculpture – the touch of coarse wood, smooth stone or wet clay; emotions take us to unconscious depth and inspire us to create.

- CRE-ACTION is a festival of production and creation that includes the following workshops: fantasy puppets, old clothes - new clothes, jewellery, art print and inventive prints.

- CHALLENGE-INVENTION takes you from small but interesting things under microscope lenses to the stars. It challenges you to try out the roles of model makers, physicists and scientists, robot makers, aspiring biologists, messy chemists or dreamy astronomers.  

- NATURE LOVERS is a festival about ecology and sustainable development that includes workshops of ecological awareness. Developing responsibility towards nature and fellow human beings with games, lectures, practical work and creative workshops

- ROOTS OF THE HEART introduces humanitarian and voluntary organizations that make this world a better place and promote moral and ethical values.

- READERS’ CORNER wants to promote the culture of reading and literary arts (reading books and magazines, presenting publishing labels, poets, writers, reading fairytales, book exchange and literary workshops).

- CUISINE: getting to know dishes from all cultures and learning how to cook healthy food;

- PLACES OF INDULGENCE: demonstrations of various massages and a nappy corner for those with babies.

- FLEXIBLE, FLEXIBLE, ALL POSSIBLE is a sports festival that enables children to enjoy fun and interesting sport activities in nature. Children can get to know different sports, dance styles and other physical activities with the help of sports teachers and choreographers.

We care deeply about the environment, so we recycle and take care of the park. However, we need you to do the same so our venue will be clean and well-kept.

Priceless moments should be remembered, so we invite all photography enthusiasts to join us!

Before starting volunteer work, all participants will attend a training course for volunteers.

All volunteers will have free drinks available and will receive a free Lent ticket.

At the end of the festival, all volunteers will receive a certificate of voluntary work at the festival Art Camp, which serves as an excellent work reference.

Volunteering at the International Festival of Creativity Art Camp will be held from June 21 to July 6, 2013 in Maribor, every day from 10 to 13 and 16 and 20 hour.

The application should include your general information (name, surname, date of birth, place of residence, status, interests), a short letter of motivation - why you would like to work with us (up to 500 characters), and a clear indication of which group or field you want to work in.
