A great honor on FOLKART’s 25th anniversary

For the last 24 years, Folkart, the largest Slovene folk festival, has been bringing us world folk art. Groups from all over the world present piece of their tradition at the international Festival Lent, which developed from Folkart festival. Groups from Polynesia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil and other South American countries, Kalmykia and Kabardino-Balkaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, neighboring Italy, hot Kenya and Benin, Indonesia and exotic Philippines brought their cultural heritage and love for their homeland to our city and created a colorful fusion of cultures.  

This June, the 25^th Folkart will be honored by the patronage of Irina Bokova, the Director-General of UNESCO, in the framework of the 10^th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
